USA Tour 2011 #16

Grouse Mountain Vancouver
After his second round loss in the Vancouver Challenger, Greg got back to training and making preparations for the next tournament. As part of his fitness training Greg and Ryan did the "Grouse Mountain Grind". Grouse Mountain , about 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, has many tourist and local attraction including the cable car, panoramic vistas, wildlife refuges featuring brown bears, lumberjack shows, water-water rafting, skiing in winter and the "grind", which is a 2.9km run up the mountain, rising through 853m with 2,830 steps.
Greg's knee must be repaired because he undertook the challenge and ground out a 43minute time, 13 minutes ahead of a puffing Ryan, who came in just over 56mins.
Greg said it was tough but he came through unscathed and says it is something he will remember for a life-time.
After recovery Greg and Ryan will head for Binghampton, in eastern New York State, for a $35k Challenger tournament, which surprisingly has a very high ranked field, Greg being one of the last acceptances into the draw, only after withdrawal of other players.
