Greg's next assignment was the qualifying at Queens in London for the Aegon Championships, a traditional grass court warm-up event for Wimbledon.
Greg's first round opponent was 26 year-old American Ryler Deheart, currently near his recent high ranking of 174, obviously a player on form.
It was a good 1st set for Greg, who broke Deheart to win the first set 6-3.
It was a much tighter 2nd set with Deheart pushing Greg all the way, with games even at 6-6. In the tie-break it was Greg who kept his nose in front and closed out the tie-break 7-4, to win the set and the match 6-3, 7-6(4).
Unfortunately having been the 2nd match on in the morning there was not much time for Greg to celebrate his win, or get much recovery time as he had to back up and play his 2nd round match that afternoon.
